Midi Magic Studio
http://gprecordingstudio.com/ A Recording Studio for Songwriters and aspiring Artists with the latest State-of-the-Art Digital equipment. An Award Winning web page with a wealth of free information and advice for Songwriters and Vocalists trying to break into the Music Industry presented in a very "down to earth" and straight-forward way.
About Gerry Peters: "I record CD projects and songwriter demos as a producer, engineer, and keyboardist. I've worked as a Nashville session keyboard player in the major studios for all sorts of projects including many major artists and major labels. So I have a storehouse of experience that I bring to every project. I usually work with one artist or writer and not a full self contained band. In Nashville, of course I do a lot of country, yet I mostly record Christian projects and those can be any style from rock, pop, R+B, church, country, MOR, Folk, Orchestral, Jazz, etc. Visit my website http://gprecordingstudio.com for lots of additional info."

Happy 85th Birthday Miles Davis!
May 26, 2011 - Munite stopped in at Los Angeles' very own Jazz Bakery Moveable Feast celebrated at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center. Jazz trumpeter Nicholas Payton performed on his trumpet as well as Fender Rhodes. Robert Hurst on bass and Lenny White on drums. It was a great performance overall. Nicholas Payton is an amazing musician! Along with his beautiful tone on trumpet, he can really throw down on the Rhodes. Wow! Lenny White was mesmerizing on drums. He's got a different tuning on his drum kit that makes his bass drum sound like a timpani. It was a nice compliment to the bass tone that Robert Hurst was eminating from his bass. It was a great night of music!

Alex Al - Bass player from Michael Jackson's This Is It
I met Alex Al back in '07 at Bass Day Pasadena. He was one of the clinicians there. Super chill guy like a lot of bass players tend to be.
Here's a bit more about him:
"Originally form Detroit, Michigan, Alex has played with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Paul Simon, and was Michael Jackson's bass player in "This Is It." Get up-close-and-personal with "Ese Vatos" bassist Alex Al... described by Michael Bearden as "the funkiest bass player on the planet."
Check out this clip from Lopez Tonight.

So I happened upon this gear review of the Planet Waves Guitar Rest. Genius idea! I always rest my guitars and basses against tables and amps. It definitely looks like a good solution to preventing damage to your beloved axe.

How Else Is Munite Making A Difference
In addition to helping aspiring musicians and working professionals, Munite also endeavors to “unite the music world” in classrooms and educational institutions across America. As budget cuts seem to be inescapable to every educational institution, it is unfortunate that programs for the arts tend to bear the brunt of the budgetary sword. With music education becoming increasingly underfunded in the school system, the likelihood of a well rounded education that includes music is becoming increasingly rare—as well as the benefits that such an education offers.
Keenly aware of the current need to democratize music education, Munite is driven to make music education accessible for all students around the world. With the current trend of many schools turning to the digital classroom to facilitate access to education and knowledge, Munite is prepared to offer various tools at no cost to institutions, educators, and students, in order to facilitate an education in music to everyone who is interested in receiving one.
Everyone can benefit from using Munite. For an educational institution, it can be a priceless tool for pre-screen auditions. With just a click or two, schools can read the prospective student’s biography as well as listen to audition pieces posted by the student. As pre-screen audition pieces can be accessed through the Munite student services platofrm, CD’s and cassettes will no longer be needed, thereby reducing waste. We will also be offering online live streams—allowing for auditions to occur in real time, thereby facilitating the interview process for the institution and the prospective student alike.
For educators, Munite offers tools that can assist in the classroom and / or move aspects of the classroom online. Educators can create an online forum, expanding the classroom to the internet. With Mumiix™ students can collaborate with their fellow students online and create new and exciting music and scores digitally. With Mumiix™, students will not only gain the knowledge of using online collaboration tools, but will also gain proficiency and awareness of the benefits that technology can play in the creative and professional process whilst preparing them for the twenty-first century.
With an online profile on Munite, students will also learn self promotion. Munite connects musicians and recording artists with labels, managers, and promoters—just to name a few. Since students are able to create biographies and download resourceful media, this creates the opportunity for the music student to market themselves to their prospective employers and/or collaborators. As an online resume, Munite offers the student, musician and artist a professional forum for self promotion and marketing, increasing their exposure to the industry and evaluated experience.
